Dream Clubs
Children’s dreams know no bounds.
It is unfortunate that our children rarely get an opportunity to dream big and make their dreams come true. It was an experimental one-off event for us, when we asked them to express their dreams on paper in our initial days here. Initially a lot of them hesitated to express themselves. Little prodding and some guidance, got most of them glued on their papers, asking us to wait and watch. We were not prepared to the results. We never knew that even children knew to hide their big dreams. We knew we had to share this with their parents. With great efforts our volunteers went with each child to their homes, to make the parents realize what their children dreamt. It touched a strong chord in their (parents’) heart. Once we got an opportunity to attract the attention of parents, we knew that the community itself has crossed a big hurdle. We made a promise to support them, and now this is our greatest responsibility.
Dream Catchers
The painting events have helped to envision Dream Clubs to help nurture their dreams. We envision a chance to groom children on skills and opportunities that they want to explore and give a platform for them to exposing their talents. Dance, yoga and football are the most active clubs. Other dream clubs include chess, volleyball, design4change, etc., and other hobby/ passion related skills.
Life skills such as yoga, self-defense, sexual abuse awareness and other skills like art from waste, dance, music, are being provided by us at zero cost, as part of our Dream Clubs Initiative.
Volunteers who are skilled with this experience would join us to train and support our children. They are the dream catchers of Chemmenchery.

Our Children who are trained in our dance club got invited by Leo Dance School to perform as part of their 10th Anniversary celebrations at the prestigious Music Academy
This brought so much of happiness, sense of pride and moment to cherish for all the parents and community who are struggling on daily basis to fight their identity crisis.
Our Kids @ Rythm of Life Event
When they are blessed with all such opportunities to learn and empower themselves, it gives them immense joy and smiles. So they give it back to the community by being the reason for someone's smile too.
Our Chemmenchery Kids performed in the Rythm of Life event held at Vidya Sagar, The Centre for Special Education operating in Kotturpuram, where Persons with Disability and Special needs are educated, cared and nurtured.

Every November we do conduct Child Safety Awareness Week between 14th to 20th November, engaging common public with awareness based arts performance across the city to stand up for children.
Our Chemmenchery Kids performed a flashmob @ OMR Food Street in spreading awareness on child safety, protecting, helpline numbers and ways to help a child feel safe and protected.
